Abyssdia Developer Note: May 28th Update Preview

Hello,
This is the Abyssdia development and operations team.

Thisis our first Developer Note since the service transfer.

Thedevelopment team is currently working on compatibility updates for the latestGoogle requirements and overall service stabilization, while also continuingdevelopment on new in-game content and system improvements.

Inthis Developer Note, we would like to share the major features currently beingprepared for the May 28 update.

Thedirection of this update can be summarized into three main goals:

First, adding new long-term progression goals that allow Vanguard growth to continuefurther.
Second, reducing repetitive fatigue in frequently played content.
Third, making it easier to check the information needed for character growthand equipment setup.

Alongsidenew progression systems, we are also improving various convenience featuresfrequently used during gameplay, including retry functions, entry conditions, selectable item usage, filters, sweep functions, and more.

Pleasenote that the following content is still under development, and certain names, structures, or detailed values may be adjusted before release.

1.New Growth System “Promotion” Added

Anew growth system, “Promotion,” will be added, allowing Vanguard level caps tobe expanded.

Thepreviously announced “True Awakening” system is currently being reorganized andprepared under the name “Promotion.”

Promotioncan be accessed through a newly added menu under the Awakening interface, andspecial materials will be required to perform Promotion.

Whenpromoted, a Vanguard’s base stats, such as Attack, Defense, and HP willincrease, along with additional bonus stats.

Ratherthan simply increasing level numbers, this system is designed to furtherstrengthen already-developed Vanguards and provide meaningful reasons tocontinue using them long-term.

Thecore goal of the Promotion system is to allow players to continue investing inand using their favorite Vanguards even in higher-level content.

PromotedVanguards will demonstrate more stable combat performance across variouscontent, such as Infinity Abyss high-score challenges, Subjugation Orders, andrepeated combat content.

Inparticular, this system is being prepared as a new growth objective for playerswho wish to revisit previously grown Vanguards or create parties centeredaround their favorite characters.

Inaddition, new event missions will be introduced alongside the Promotion system.

Toensure the new growth structure does not feel overwhelming, the missions aredesigned to naturally guide players through the Promotion process duringgameplay.

2.Vanguard Purchase Feature Added to the Special Shop

Aspreviously mentioned during the livestream, a feature allowing players topurchase Vanguards directly from the Special Shop will be added.

Playerswill be able to use EST acquired through gameplay to purchase Vanguards, withno distinction between paid and free EST.

AllVanguards released on the current server will be available for purchase.

Newlyreleased pick-up Vanguards will also be included in the purchase pool.

However,Seasonal Vanguards will only be purchasable during their respective seasons, and Vanguards not yet released on a server will become available after theirofficial release.

Thisfeature is being added to provide players with an additional method ofobtaining desired Vanguards outside of the gacha system.

Untilnow, players who joined after a pickup period ended often had difficultyknowing when or how they could obtain previously released Vanguards.

Withthis change, players will gradually be able to secure the Vanguards they wantusing EST earned through continued gameplay.

Whilenot every player will collect Vanguards at the same pace, we wanted to create asense that continued play steadily brings players closer to obtaining theirdesired characters.

3.Infinity Abyss Season 3 Revamp

Startingthis season, Infinity Abyss will no longer require daily tickets for entry.Instead, players will freely challenge the mode to pursue higher scores withoutconsuming tickets.

InfinityAbyss is content focused on testing various Vanguard combinations and equipmentsetups to achieve higher scores.

However, when challenge attempts are limited, it becomes difficult to freely experimentwith party compositions, equipment changes, and alternative strategies.

Thisrevamp is intended to reduce that burden and allow players to challenge thecontent more freely using a wider variety of combinations.

Rewardswill also be further segmented.

Ratherthan focusing on a single major milestone, players will now gradually earnrewards based on score thresholds as they progress toward higher goals.

Levelsegments will also be divided more finely, allowing players to experienceprogression and challenge milestones more frequently than before.

4.Retry / Re-Request Functions Added to Content

“Retry”and “Re-Request” functions will be added to content such as Infinity Abyss andSubjugation Orders.

Retryallows players to restart a battle immediately if they are unsatisfied with theongoing result.

Re-Requestallows players to replay the same content immediately after completing a battleand receiving rewards.

Previously, players often had to exit and re-enter content screens in order to challengecontent again.

Inrepeat-oriented content, this process could gradually become inconvenient overtime.

Withthis improvement, players will be able to immediately retry after checkingbattle results or continue directly into another run after collecting rewards.

Thisupdate will first apply to content where implementation is currently possible, with additional similar content planned for future updates.

5.Gimmick Icons and Keyword Summaries Added

Weare improving how monster and stage strategy information is displayed.

Currently, some content relies heavily on players reading large amounts of text tounderstand enemy gimmicks and stage mechanics.

Asa result, it could sometimes be difficult to quickly identify which skills orstatus effects required caution before entering battle.

Withthis improvement, especially dangerous skills, status effects, and key countermechanics will be displayed using icons and keywords.

Forexample, if a specific monster uses powerful status effects or requires cautionagainst certain patterns, that information will be displayed more prominentlyso players can quickly understand the key mechanics before battle.

Thegoal of this update is to help players immediately recognize what they shouldpay attention to before reading lengthy explanations in full.

6.Improved Convenience for Selectable Items

Convenienceimprovements are being made for selectable items such as growth materialselection boxes.

Previously, players often had to manually check which resources they lacked beforereopening the selection interface to find the correct materials.

Inaddition, failing to notice default selections could sometimes result inreceiving unwanted materials.

Withthis improvement, players will be able to more easily identify lackingresources and required quantities while selecting the desired items directly.

Thiswill allow players to quickly understand what they currently need, how much isrequired, and which option should be selected.

Themain goal of this update is to reduce the time spent searching and calculatingmaterials during the growth process, making the actual growth process smootherand more convenient.

7.Recommended Equipment Guide Added

Recommendedequipment guides will be added for each Vanguard.

Theseguides are being prepared to help players understand which stats, equipmenttypes, and set effects best match each Vanguard’s combat style.

Equipmentsetup is one of the most important factors affecting a Vanguard’s combatperformance.

However, for new or returning players, it can often be difficult to determine whichequipment should be equipped.

Ratherthan enforcing a single correct answer, the Recommended Equipment Guide isintended to help players quickly understand effective setup directions for eachVanguard.

Throughthis system, newly obtained Vanguards can be brought into practical combat morequickly, while reducing the burden of equipment setup.

8.Maximum Tuning Mastery Level Increased

Themaximum level cap for Tuning Mastery will be increased.

TuningMastery is a growth system that strengthens the primary attributes and types ofVanguard parties.

Withthis level cap expansion, players will be able to reinforce the direction andstrengths of their main party compositions more clearly.

Playerswho focus on specific attributes or types will be able to deepen the strengthsof those combinations further through this expansion.

WhilePromotion focuses on individual Vanguard growth, the Tuning Mastery expansionis designed as a growth system that strengthens the overall direction of anentire party.

9.Sweep Convenience Improvements

Forthe Goddess Temple, previously cleared dungeons will become sweepableregardless of conditions.

Inaddition, for dungeons requiring specific entry conditions, the requiredconditions will now be displayed more clearly.

Sweepbuttons will also remain visible even when players lack sufficient stamina.

Thischange is intended to reduce the inconvenience of needing to recharge staminabefore searching for the sweep button or reopening the same menu repeatedly.

Sinceprogression content is frequently repeated, even small inconveniences inoperation can accumulate over time.

Thisimprovement focuses on allowing players to repeatedly access already-clearedcontent more quickly and comfortably.

10.New Event Missions Added

Newevent missions will be added alongside the Promotion system and the TuningMastery level cap expansion.

Whenevernew growth systems are introduced, it might be difficult for players toimmediately understand where to begin.

Theseevent missions are designed to naturally guide players through the newly addedsystems while helping them understand required materials and growth flow.

Afterthe update, even players experiencing Promotion and Tuning Mastery for thefirst time will be able to follow the event missions and easily understand thecore systems.

11.New Vanguard “Elle” Added

Anew Vanguard, “Elle,” is also added for this update.

Elleis a newly designed character intended to provide a combat experience distinctfrom existing Vanguards.

Alongsidethe new growth systems, players will also be able to enjoy new partycombinations, equipment setups, and strategies built around Elle.

Weare preparing to showcase both the character’s charm and combat style together, and more detailed information about Elle will be revealed gradually throughupdate notices and separate introductions.

ClosingMessage

TheMay 28 update focuses not only on adding new growth systems, but also onimproving frequently played content and commonly used gameplay featurestogether.

Afterthe update, we will continue monitoring actual gameplay flow and playerfeedback closely to ensure these changes are being experienced as intended.

Goingforward, we will continue refining both new content such as Vanguards andevents, as well as the usability and replay experience of existing systems.

Additionalfeatures currently in preparation beyond what was introduced in this note willalso be shared gradually in future announcements.

Thanks,
